You may donate online via the OSV Hub page for the Lawrence County Catholic Churches. You may access that page via the link below or by scanning the following QR code.
You can use Online Giving for the following collections:
If you're a registered parishioner, you'll be sent regular mailings of donation envelopes. Each envelope is pre-printed with your name and envelope number, as well as the date of the collection. Envelopes are provided for every Sunday (Regular Adult) collection, Holy Day collections, and special collections. Using these envelopes is the best way to ensure your donations are recorded in your name, so you can request a receipt for tax purposes.
Donations will be counted toward the church and collection printed on the envelope unless you specify otherwise, even if you donate at a different church. For instance, if you are a registered parishioner at St. Ann and you turn in your regular envelope at St. Mary, your donation will be counted toward St. Ann.
If you prefer to donate to a different church or collection than what's printed on your envelope, please indicate this by crossing out the church and/or collection printed on the envelope and writing in the preferred one. If giving by check, please make the check out to the church you're donating to.
If you want to give to multiple collections, please use separate envelopes. If giving by check, please write a separate check for each collection. It is not necessary to use separate envelopes or checks for multiple weeks of the Regular Adult collection.
The easiest way to give is to put cash in the collection basket. This is counted as part of the weekly Loose Collection.
If you'd rather pay by check, you can put that in the basket as well. If you're registered, we'll try to match your check up with your envelope number and count your check toward the Regular Adult Collection (unless you specify a special collection in the memo line). Otherwise we'll count it as part of the Loose Collection.
If you need a receipt for tax purposes, please consider registering and using envelopes instead. We can't give credit for anonymous cash donations. Wihle we try to keep track of donors of loose checks, we can't guarantee accuracy, especially if you're not registered or you're registered under a different name than what's on your checks.
On the third Sunday of each month, we take up a second collection at the end of each Mass benefiting the local poor. A set amount of the funds raised is sent to Harvest for the Hungry food pantry in Ironton. Another amount is sent to the Community Mission Outreach in Chesapeake. The remainder is kept to be used for the needy who contact the parish office with requests for assistance.
Note: Your SVDP donations are not sent to organizations other than those named above. While the collection is named for the the same saint, we are not affiliated with the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
In most cases, you'll make the check out to the church you're donating to. This includes the Regular Adult collection, the Loose collection (if you're not registered), Votive candle donations, and most special collections such as Peter's Pence, Home Missions, Catholic Relief Services, etc. Make your checks payable to:
For the SVDP collection, make checks payable to St. Joseph SVDP. You donation will be counted toward the church where you are registered, or if unregistered, the church where you made the donation.
Generally, no. Each separate collection has to be counted separately, so if we receive a check for multiple collections, the counting team has to put it in one of the collections and take cash for the rest. This means extra work for our volunteers and can increase the likelihood of errors. To ensure your donations go where you want, please write a separate check for each collection. A good rule of thumb for donors who receive donation envelopes: If it has a separate envelope, it needs a separate check.
However, you do not need to write separate checks, or use separate envelopes, if donating for multiple weeks of the regular adult collection.
